Ahly handball team clinched their 21st Egyptian League title after securing a narrow 27-26 victory over arch rivals Zamalek on Monday.

The Cairo giants locked horns in a decider after ending the competition sharing the same points.

Ahly dominated the game since the start; ending the first half with a 16-9 lead.

Zamalek restored the balance in the second half, closing the gap to just two points before scoring from a penalty in the dying seconds, but the final whistle came to announce Ahly's crowning.

On 12 April, Zamalek won their fifth African Super Cup title, after defeating Ahly 21-20.
