Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi is expected to meet on Saturday with the country's national football team in Cairo, one day before they head to Russia for the 2018 World Cup, Egypt's presidential spokesperson Bassam Rady said on Friday.

The team arrived in Cairo from Brussels on Thursday after playing two international friendlies against Colombia and Belgium during their final preparation camp for the cup.

The Egyptian Football Association has said that the team is scheduled for a final training session on Saturday, which will be open to fan attendance.

Egypt will kick off their World Cup campaign on 15 June against Uruguay and then face hosts Russia on 19 June. Their final group-stage match will be against Saudi Arabia on 25 June.
