Khazri scored in Tunisia's 2-1 World Cup victory over Panama (Reuters)
Tunisia forward Wahbi Khazri has completed a move to French side Saint-Etienne from Sunderland, the English League One (third tier) club announced on Tuesday.
"#SAFC would like to wish Wahbi good luck at his new club," Sunderland said on their Twitter account, without disclosing the transfer fee.
Khazri joined Sunderland in January 2016 but joined Rennes last summer on a season-long loan after his club were relegated to the Championship.
The 27-year-old is a regular member of Tunisia's squad and was one of their key players at the World Cup in Russia.
Having recovered from injury in time to make Tunisia's World Cup squad, Khazri scored two goals in the tournament.
He found the net in their 5-2 defeat by Belgium and 2-1 win over Panama, which was their only victory in a disappointing Group G campaign.
