The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) will approve the participation of four foreigners for each club in domestic competitions this season, board member Ahmed Megahed confirmed.
"Each club will have the right to register four players, but only three will be approved to be on the pitch," Megahed told a local radio station Sunday morning.
Last season, only three foreigners were approved to be registered, but the association amended its decision this season.
The Egyptian Premier League comprises 18 clubs, including record-holders Ahly and their rivals Zamalek, who meet in the 17th and 35th rounds.
The kick-off of the domestic league has been scheduled for end of July, with the EFA board announced earlier that they tend towards compressing the season in order to finish it early, to synchronise with world football schedules.
The highlight of the season is the cash splash of the Pyramids club, after a Saudi investor bought it and changed its name from Assiuty Sports, landing many locals and foreigners, including five Brazilians.
