Egyptian actress Hala Shiha, who retired from acting in 2005 for religious reasons, will be returning to the entertainment industry, her younger sister and fellow actress Hana Shiha told media outlets, but did not provide details or dates.
Hala Shiha, 39, featured in several successful roles in Egyptian cinema, including El-Selem We El-Teaban (The Ladder And The Snake, 2001 ), Sehr El-Oyoun (Magic of Eyes, 2002), El-Lemby (2002), Aris Min Geha Amneya (A Groom from the Security Entity (2004), Tayih fi Amrika (Lost in America, 2002).
Shiha was born in 1979 in Lebanon to an Egyptian father, painter Ahmed Shiha, and a Lebanese mother.
In 2003, Shiha announced her plan to wear a veil and retire from acting.
However, she postponed the decision until 2005, and finally retired in the middle of a flourishing career, stating her wish "to get closer to Islam."
