Ahly have announced the absence of goalie Mohamed El-Shennawi and attacking midfielder Mido Gaber from Firday's game against Haras El-Hodoud in the Egyptian Premier League due to injuries.
The duo sustained their respective injuries during Ahly’s 1-0 league win over Wadi Degla on Tuesday.
"El-Shennawi and Gaber underwent medical scans to determine the seriousness of their injuries, and the result was that they suffer from muscle problems," Ahly director Mohamed Youssef told the club's official website on Thursday.
"The technical staff headed by French coach Patrice Carteron preferred to rest the pair during the upcoming game against Haras El-Hodoud," he added.
Ahly are second on the league table with seven points after a draw with Ismaily in the opener followed by a win over Masry, then a victory against Wadi Degla.
