Egyptian artist Nadia Sirry will be on the jury of the seventh Intercontinental Biennial of Indigenous Art in Peru, which is being held at the Metropolitan Museum of Lima from October 12 to 24.
Sirry, an established artist, who integrates gold leaf and sand into paint on canvas, is also featured in the Biennial, with three oil paintings in different sections of the exhibition.
The first artwork is part of the main exhibition, while the second is within a homage to Peruvian master artist Juan de la Cruz Machicado.
Sirry's third artwork is featured in the parallel Travelling Gallery of the biennial, which will be held this year in St. Ignace in Michigan.
The biennial features 25 artists from different parts of Peru who have developed an artistic vision in close connection with the Peruvian land and its culture, in addition to international artists from all over the world.
Sirry was born in 1958. She has exhibited her works in solo exhibitions, group shows and biennials.
She was recently listed by Art Tour International Magazine (ATIM) among the 60 most important contemporary artists in the world, and this year she won the Leonardo DaVinci International Art Award.
