Egypt's assistant coach Hani Ramzi said on Tuesday that the team's technical staff has realised all their targets in the current period, adding that they have a good chance to build a new team capable of competing for the title in next year's Africa Cup of Nations.

The Pharaohs defeated eSwatini on Tuesday to get one step closer to reaching the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations set to be played in Cameroon in the summer of 2019.

"We won our three games in the African qualifiers, we gave the chance for new players to appear with the Pharaohs and we managed to change the style of the team," Ramzi told an Egyptian Radio station on Tuesday.

Coach Javier Aguirre, who took charge of the Egyptian national team last August, guided the Pharaohs to three successive wins in the Nations Cup qualifiers, scoring 12 goals in three games.

He adopted an offensive strategy, completely different from his predecessor Hector Cuper, known as a conservative and defensive coach.

Ramzi added that the technical staff now has the chance to build a new team for the future, stressing that they will work without pressure after nearly securing their place in the upcoming Nations Cup.

"We will have the time to work without pressure in the upcoming period," Ramzi added. "We will give the chance for new players to join the Pharaohs and we will test them."

"Our target now is to build a team capable of competing for the title in next year's Africa Cup of Nations," he concluded.
