The Cairo-based gallery Art Talks is representing Egypt in the Cultural Narratives exhibition held by Selection Magazine in Kuwait, opening tonight at the Contemporary Art Platform (CAP).
The Middle Eastern travelling group show features eight established Egyptian artists; Aly Said, Aly Sirry, Hady Boraey, Guirguis Lofty, Hossam Dirar, Klay Kassem, Riham El-Sadany and Yasser Rostom.
Through approximately 250 artworks by established and emerging artists, the show "provides a visual map of the Arab and Persian worlds," as the exhibition statement reads.
With over 200 artists from Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Tunisia, Palestine, the UAE and Sudan, the works reflect the rich culture of each country and transcend regional boundaries to be as global as they are localised.
The travelling exhibition was held in February and March in Dubai's Alserkal Avenue.
