Egypt's meteorologists predict that the country will continue to see unstable weather conditions on Friday, after strong winds hit several governorates on Thursday.

A number of sea ports in the governorates of Suez and South Sinai have been closed down on Thursday due to bad weather conditions including strong winds and high waves, the Red Sea Ports Authority said.

Wind and rains are expected across several parts of Cairo, the Nile Delta governorates and the northern coast on Friday, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority said on its official website.

Strong winds may also disrupt navigation on the Mediterranean Sea.  

The Alexandria and Dekheila ports have also been closed on Thursday to avoid ship collisions due to the bad weather, spokesman for the Alexandria Port Authority Reda El-Ghandour said in a statement.

Temperatures are forecast to slightly decline on Friday, with Cairo and the Nile Delta to see highs of 27 degrees Celsius and lows of 19, while the Mediterranean city of Alexandria is expected to see highs of 24 and lows of 19.

North Sinai and the country's northeastern coast will see highs of 25 degrees and lows of 20, while South Sinai and the Red Sea resort city of Hurghada will see highs of 28 and lows of 21.

Northern Upper Egypt will see highs of 28 degrees and lows of 18, and the south will witness highs of 31 and lows of 20.
