Prominent businessman Mohamed Abul-Enein received Italy’s most prestigious social giving award 2018
Businessman Mohamed Abou El-Enein has received the Stella al Merito sociale 2018 award from Italy’s Culture and Solidarity Foundation, one of the largest social organisations in Italy, on Tuesday.
The ceremony was attended by vice chairman of Cleopatra Group Tarek Abou El-Enein, Sada Al-Balad anchor Ahmed Moussa, and Egypt's consul-general in Milan Ehab Abu-Seriaa.
“Prominent businessman Mohamed Abou El-Enein won Italy’s social giving award 2018 for his social role in supporting and promoting the values of culture, solidarity, co-existence and cooperation among peoples and his support for friendship between the Egyptians and Italians,”Abu-Seriaa said.
The ceremony also honoured archaeologist Zahi Hawass, who won the Antiquities Award for his archaeological discoveries.
Abou El-Enein was awarded the award due to his outstanding social role in supporting cooperation among the peoples of the world, and promoting friendship between Egypt and Italy, according to a statement by the organisation.
His charitable institution has played a role in alleviating the social consequences of some major disasters such as the reconstructing of two villages after being subjected to floods, offering aid to the victims of 1992 Cairo earthquake, and a rock fall accident in El-Dowaiqa.
He is also the honorary speaker of the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly.
