Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi is due to hold talks with Germany’s Angela Merkel in Berlin on Tuesday as part of his multi-day visit to the German capital for a summit of African nations.

The pair is expected to discuss Germany's support to Egypt's economy and education, its efforts to encourage German investors to put money in Egypt as well as Egypt's efforts to combat illegal migration and terrorism, the website of Egypt's state television said.

El-Sisi is one of 10 African leaders taking part in the G20 Investment Summit in Berlin on Tuesday, part of the G20 Compact with Africa (CwA) – an initiative launched in 2017 under the German presidency of the G20 group of nations to attract private investors to Africa.

The CwA brings together African countries, international organisations and certain G20 countries to sponsor reforms and promote investment opportunities in the continent.

El-Sisi met on Monday, the second day of his four-day visit, with German Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier where they discussed means to boost economic cooperation and bilateral relations.
