Ahly striker Emad Meteb is fit to play against Ittihad Al-Shorta in the fifteenth match of the Egyptian Premier League next Wednesday after recovering from a strained leg muscle, according to the club’s official website.

“Meteb will take part in Saturday’s training sessions to prepare for his appearance in the game against Ittihad Al-Shorta in the same week,” Ahly’s doctor Ehab Ali was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, the club’s defender, Mohamed Naguib, is unlikely to play in the game as he has yet to complete his rehab.

“Naguib is recovering from a muscular tear in his groin and he may participate in the game,” Ahly’s doctor added.

After Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with El-Enttag El-Harby, Ahly is set to face Smouha in the fourteenth match of the Egyptian Premier League on Saturday, and then will play against Ittihad Al-Shorta on Wednesday.

Ahly is second in the 19-team league table with 27 points, one point behind surprise leaders El-Hodoud.
