The annual meeting of the World Future Councils in Dubai, organised by the government of Dubai, will take place Sunday in partnership with the World Economic Forum.
Under the auspices of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, the meeting is a multi-disciplinary network aimed at exploring how to create a sustainable and inclusive future.
It includes the participation of more than 61 countries represented by 700 members of Future Councils, along with more than 300 participants drawn from leaders and entrepreneurs.
There are 38 Future Councils, including the Future Council of Flexible Governance, which is working on drafting parameters of governance to fit the Fourth Industrial Revolution, empowering leaders to lay the foundation for flexible and modern management.
The two-day meeting, coordinated by Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future of the UAE Mohammed Al-Qarqawi, will discuss several future issues, including developments in the world economic situation, uncertainty regarding international trade, investment and the flexibility of Arab economies towards these developments, and the impact of evolving political and economic globalisation.
A study on data policies will be launched as well as a framework for dealing with information technologies at the level of governments and individuals.
The meeting will also discuss future trade wars and how to deal with them.
A report on regional risks to business will be released based on a survey of more than 12,000 business leaders.
