The Egyptian foreign ministry said in a statement on Thursday that Cairo reaffirms its trust in Saudi investigations into the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, which reflect a high level of seriousness and transparency.
The statement said that Cairo has been paying great attention to the latest announcements by the Saudi judicial authorities on the results of investigations into the killing of Khashoggi, who disappeared after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul last month.
"Egypt appreciates the actions taken by Saudi Arabia in this case, and calls on all involved parties to abide by the current course of investigations and avoid politicisation," the statement said, adding that Egypt trusts the investigation is “conducted with integrity and credibility."
