Egypt's foreign ministry commemorates victims of 1995 explosions at embassy in Pakistan

The Egyptian foreign ministry commemorated on Monday the people killed in the explosions of the Egyptian embassy in Pakistan in 1995.

"Twenty-three years have passed today since the explosions at our embassy in Pakistan. We recall with love, appreciation and gratitude the memory of the Egyptian martyrs who passed away in such a tragic incident. Egypt will continue to seriously fight terrorism and extremism. God bless all martyrs of the homeland," spokesman for the foreign ministry Ahmed Hafez said on his Facebook page and Twitter account. 

On 19 November 1994, the Egyptian embassy compound in Islamabad, Pakistan was bombed in a terrorist attack that killed 17 people, including four Egyptian diplomats as well three Egyptian guards. Sixty 60 people were injured in the attack. The Al-Qaeda-affiliated Islamic Jihad group claimed responsibility for the attack.
