Egyptian side Zamalek said on Wednesday that the club's Moroccan forward Hamid Ahaddad was not for sale, ending speculation over the player's future.

The 24-year-old, who joined Zamalek from Morocco's Difaa Hassani El Jadidi last summer on a four-year contract for a reported fee of $1.4 million, fell out favor with Swiss coach Christian Gross.

He played a total of 39 minutes in 23 games and reports suggested that Moroccan side Wydad de Casablanca are preparing a bid for the player.

Zamalek are leading the league table with 41 points, six ahead of second-placed Pyramids who played two games more.

The White Knights will face Moroccan side Ittihad Tanger in the second leg of the African Confederation Cup round of 32 on Saturday.

After their goalless draw in the first leg, Zamalek will be looking for a win in Saturday's clash to secure their place in the competition's group stage.
