Egypt played out an exciting 30-30 draw with Hungary at the World Championship on Wednesday to move one step closer to reaching the tournament's main round.
They are now third of Group D with three points, three behind leaders Sweden who will have an easy test against Qatar later on Wednesday.
A win over the group's bottom side Angola on Thursday will most probably secure Egypt's place in the main round.
The first three teams in each group advance to the main round.
Egypt made a slow start to the game, with Hungary taking a three-goal lead before the Pharaohs came from behind to level the score at 14-14 at the end of the first half.
Egypt keeper Mohamed El-Tayar produced a heroic second-half display, pulling off a string of saves to help his side avoid loss in the crucial clash.
Ali Zein was named man of the match after scoring seven goals.
