Ahly’s Uruguayan coach Martin Lasarte has praised the performance of his players after their superb performance in the 3-0 win over Maqassa in the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday, saying that the team is on the right track and that he is working to balance the squad.

"The players performed well during the first half of the game. It was the best game for me with the team since my arrival," Lasarte told a television programme after the game.

 "I am happy with the result as the game was difficult while we still suffer from injuries."

"The players are on the right track and I am working to balance the squad as you find five players can play in the same position while in other positions you only find one or two," the Ahly coach, who took over the helm of the Cairo giants in January, added.

Ahly have climbed to third place in the league table with 30 points, 11 points behind leaders Zamalek, who have played two games more.
