Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry attended on Wednesday a joint meeting of the ministerial committee on Scale of Assessment and Contribution of the African Union Foreign Ministers Executive Council and the 15-member committee of finance ministers in Addis Ababa.

Hafez added that the participants discussed the issue of financing the peace fund to establish a sustainable mechanism to finance peace efforts in the African continent.
The meeting is held ahead of the African summit that will kick off on Sunday, during which Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi will receive the AU chairmanship for the year 2019.
The two-day ministerial meetings will take up political issues related to peace and security in Africa, at the top of which will be the situations in Libya, Somalia and the DR Congo.
