Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi was briefed by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on the latest developments in investigations of a deadly Cairo train crash which left at least 22 dead last Wednesday.
In an official statement, El-Sisi’s spokesman Bassam Rady said the president was informed of updates related to the probe, as well as the condition of those injured.
At least 22 people were killed and dozens injured when a train crashed into the barriers at Cairo’s busiest station Ramses on Wednesday morning, sparking a huge fire.
Six workers were detained by the prosecution on Thursday for investigation into their involvement of the fatal accident which saw the resignation of the transport minister.
