The Alexandria Port Authority said on Sunday that two major Mediterranean ports will remain closed on Monday due to bad weather conditions.
Azza Reda Al-Ghandour, a spokesman for the port authority, attributed the decision to "high wind speeds to levels that do not allow the movement of ships."
The Boughazi and Dekheila ports were shut down on Sunday after the Egyptian Meteorological Authority recorded a rise in wave height and an increase in wind speed that might pose problems to maritime navigation.
