Egyptian comic book TokTok will release issue number 15 with a book signing event held on 11 May at Cairopolitan store.
This issue will feature artists Mohamed Salah, Tawfig, Migo, Amr Talaat, Ahmed Saad, and Shennawy.
TokTok, established in 2011, is named after the small, three-wheeled vehicles used in the working class districts of Egyptian cities.
The magazine was established by a number of art school graduates and professional cartoonists at Egyptian newspapers, including Tawfig, El-Shennawy, Hesham Rahma, Tawfik and Andil.
The aim of the comic is to spark dialogue and change people's perspectives, not just on political issues, but spanning a range of social and emotional subjects.
"We wanted to have a comic magazine that is close to the spirit of the Egyptian street, in easy language," Shennawy, one of TokTok's founders, told Ahram Online in 2011.
The comic has received international acclaim, winning the second prize in the best independent comic magazine section at the International Festival of Comics in Algeria (FIBDA).
Last year, the magazine was in Brussels at Fête de la BD/Stripfeest 2018, where some of its 'best of' were translated to French for the fair.
Cairpolitan, hosting the issue's launch, was founded by illustrator and object designer Ahmed Hefnawy, who partnered with artist and illustrator Shennawy. The artistic products in the shop are from Cairo's contemporary visual culture, all objects from daily life rendered in a new light.
