Renowned director Kamla Abu Zekri took to Facebook to express her dismay at Sameh Abdelaziz, who directed the episodes of Ramadan series Zay El-Shams after her departure.
Abu Zekri was not credited for the first eight episodes, which she directed, while instead Abdelaziz is credited for the entire series.
On her personal Facebook page, Zekri broke her silence on the issue saying that while she "didn't want to comment, this audacity has gone too far."
Without naming names, Zekri's accusation was clear as she wrote, "The least you can do is not write your name on work you haven't done … You should have your name on just your work when it begins."
Zekri added that she made most of the choices on which the series is based, including décor, locations, choice of actors and their appearance, as well as working with the scriptwriter.
Zekri previously mentioned that the reason of her depature from the series was because she could not complete a certain number of episodes in a given time.
Zekri is known for directing the film A Day for Women, and the 2017 series Sunset Oasis (Wahat Al-Ghoroub).
Zay El-Shams is written by Mariam Naoum and produced by Mohamed Mashesh, starring Dina Elsherbiny, Riham Abdelghafour, Ahmed El-Saadany, Ahmed Dawood, Sawsan Badr, Ahmed Malek.
