Egypt security forces kill 12 Hasm terrorists in Giza, Cairo: Interior ministry

Egypt's interior ministry said on Monday that police have killed 12 terrorists from the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Hasm group in raids on their hideouts in Giza and Cairo governorates.

According to a ministry statement, the raids were carried out based on intelligence received by the National Security Agency that the terrorists were planning attacks upon directives from leading figures of the terrorist-designated Muslim Brotherhood abroad.

The ministry said that security forces raided one of the group’s hideouts in 6 October city in Giza, which was being used to manufacture explosive devices.

When the hideout was raided, the group opened fire against the security forces. Seven terrorists were killed in the shootout, the statement raid.

The police seized four automatic rifles, a birdshot rifle, and explosive material used to produce IEDs from the hideout.

The security forces also raided another hideout for the militant group in Shorouq city in Cairo governorate.

Five terrorist elements were killed in a shootout with the security forces.

The police seized five automatic rifles and four explosive devices.

The high state security prosecution is currently investigating the case.
