Egypt's skipper Ahmed Elmohamady said on Monday he is currently focusing on the upcoming African Cup of Nations, which set to be played between 21 June and 19 July in Egypt.

The Aston Villa fullback helped his side regain its place in the Premier League after defeating Derby County 2-1 in the Championship play-off to join Norwich City and Sheffield United in next season's Premier League.

"I finished my season with Aston Villa and I am now focusing on the Nations Cup," the Egyptian defender told BeIN Sports on Monday.

"Egypt will host the continental competition and all Egyptians are looking for the precious title."

The Egyptian international admitted that he is very exhausted after a long European season, which is also the case of Mohamed Salah and Mohamed Elneny, but he is confident that the Pharaohs technical staff will prepare the players to appear in good form.

"I had a long season, but we have an excellent technical staff and I am confident that they will prepare the players after this long season.

Elmohamady, who won two nations Cup titles, will be the Pharaohs skipper in this summer's African Cup of Nations.
