The film Casablanca was the top earner from among five movies released during the competitive Eid season in Egypt, earning nearly EGP 22 million over the three days of the Muslim holiday.
Directed by Peter Mimi and written by Hisham Helal, the film stars Amir Karara, Ghada Adel, Eyad Nassar, Amr Abdelgelil, and Lebleba.
El-Mammar (The Crossing) – directed by Sherif Arafa and starring Ahmed Ezz – came in second, earning over EGP 10 million.
Sabaa El-Boromba (The Courageous) earned over EGP 9 million, while Hamlit Pharaoun (The Pharaoh's Campaign) earned over EGP 8 million.
The film Mohamed Hussein earned the least in the box office race with EGP 1.8 million.
