Egypt's defence minister, foreign minister head to Russia for official visit: Statement

Egypt's Defence Minister Mohamed Zaki, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, and a number of top military commanders headed to the Republic of Russian Federation on Sunday to attend a two-plus-two dialogue with Russian officials, a statement by Egypt's army spokesperson said on Sunday.

The visit aims at discussing means of boosting bilateral relations in all domains.

The minister of defence, the general commander of the Armed Forces, is scheduled to attend the International Military and Technical Forum ARMY 2019.

Minister Zaki is also set to hold talks with senior officials in the Russian Ministry of Defence with the aim of discussing a set of issues of common interest in view of the partnership and military cooperation between the armed forces of both countries, the statement said.
