The veteran striker was too strong for Equatorial Guinea’s defence during Saturday’s game, scoring twice to lift the Ivory Coast to the semifinal.
He opened the scoring in the 36th minute with a fine individual effort before sending a superbly-executed header home in the 70th minute to set the Elephants on their way to an easy 3-0 victory over the co-hosts.

The Manchester City midfielder wrapped up Ivory Coast’s 3-0 victory over Equatorial Guinea with a splendid free-kick nine minutes from time.
He curled a right-footed effort over the wall and into the top corner as Eq. Guinea’s keeper was too slow to react.

Zambia continued their impressive campaign with a 3-0 victory over Sudan, putting in a display that tips them to cause an upset and reach the CAN final.
In the other quarter-final game, favourites Ivory Coast secured an equally easy victory, thanks to a man-of-the match performance from the talismanic Drogba.
The Elephants remained the only team not to concede any goals as they target their first CAN triumph since 1992.

Equatorial Guinea’s Brazilian-born keeper Danilo superbly blocked a penalty from Drogba to prevent Ivory Coast from going ahead after 29 minutes.
The Chelsea man sent a powerful shot but Danilo dived to his right in a timely reaction to push the ball away.
