Egypt looks forward to more cooperation with EBRD: PM

MENA , Monday 1 Jul 2019

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli stressed on Monday Egypt's eagerness to cooperate with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in new fields, such as transportation and small and medium-sized enterprises.

During a meeting with EBRD Vice President Alain Pilloux, Madbouli said that Egypt appreciates the successful partnership and deeply-rooted relations with the European bank, citing the choice of Egypt as the largest country of EBRD operations in 2018.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi follows up the implementation of all projects being implemented by the EBRD in Egypt, the premier noted.

Pilloux, for his part, said that his bank is keen on expanding its services in Egypt to establish new projects in the fields of transportation, oil and electricity.

The bank is also interested in supporting the small and medium-sized enterprises and enhancing the role played by the private sector in Egypt, he said.

The coming period will witness more cooperation between Egypt and the EBRD in the fields of reconstruction and development, Pilloux added.

The meeting was attended by Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr.
