Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi stressed on Thursday that Egypt supports all development efforts in Nile Basin countries.

El-Sisi’s remarks came during his meeting with Uganda’s parliament speaker Rebecca Kadaga, where they discussed boosting ties, benefiting from the current African mechanisms aiming at increasing investments, and developing infrastructure in Africa, presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said.

The president highlighted efforts to boost integration among African countries, citing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which was recently launched during the AU summit in Niger.

El-Sisi asked Kadaga to convey his greetings to Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.

Kadaga hailed the Egyptian role in Africa as vital for regional stability and security, especially for Nile Basin countries.
