Egypt's water minister meets Sudanese counterpart

The minister's visit to Khartoum comes as part of a tour that includes Ethiopia

Egypt's Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel-Ati held a meeting with his Sudanese counterpart Salah Ahmed Ibrahim in Khartoum on Thursday.

According to a ministry statement, Abdel-Ati was accompanied by a delegation of ministry officials during his visit.

In the meeting the two parties discussed bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries in fields of mutual interest.

Abdel-Ati and Ibrahim also continued their consultations regarding negotiations over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam. Abdel-Ati presented Egypt's views in this regard.

The minister's visit comes as part of a tour that includes Sudan and Ethiopia.
