Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Cooperation Sahar Nasr and head of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Akinwumi Adesina discussed on Thursday means to enhance bilateral cooperation to boost regional engagement initiatives and economic integration.

In a meeting held on the sidelines of the seventh edition of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 7), Nasr and Adesina explored means to connect African projects to further economic and developmental cooperation between Egypt and the continent, and ways to increase the volume of intra-trade.

Chairing the current round of the African Union, Egypt was eager to boost cooperation with the AfDB in every sector to improve the business and investment climate, Nasr said. Adesina pointed out that the AfDB was aiming to encourage African economic integration.

The Egyptian minister invited Adesina to participate in the Africa 2019 Conference, scheduled to be held in Egypt in November.
