Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi hailed on Thursday the vital role of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni as an African leader.
President El-Sisi praised Museveni's efforts to boost security and stability in Africa, highlighting the strength of the historic relations binding the two countries as well as Egypt's eagerness to boost bilateral relations on all levels.
This came during talks held between El-Sisi and Museveni on the sidelines of the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), currently taking place in the Japanese city of Yokohama.
The Ugandan president affirmed the depth of relations with Egypt, saying his country is looking forward to promoting cooperation in all fields, especially in light of Egypt's pivotal regional role, said presidential spokesman Bassam Rady.
Museveni praised the contributions of Egyptian companies to development in his country and expressed appreciation for the technical support offered by Egypt in honing the skills of the Ugandan people in recent years, the spokesman added.
The two sides discussed the latest developments in the continent as well as counterterrorism efforts.
