Egypt's Zamalek handball team have finished the 2019 Super Globe club world championship in fifth place after beating Qatar’s Al Duhail 33-26 in the in the placement round’s final match on Saturday.
The Whites were eliminated from the prestigious tournament, hosted by Saudi Arabia, after Wednesday's 32-28 loss to German side THW Kiel in the quarter-final.
On Thursday, Zamalek played their first game in the placement rounds for fifth to tenth place, beating American champions New York City 38-24.
The 11-time African champions qualified directly for the quarters of the annual tournament after winning the 2019 African Handball Super Cup by beating local rivals Ahly 38-35.
Zamalek ended the 2010 Super Globe in third place, and came fourth in 2011 and 2012.
