Egypt's U23 side beat Saudi Arabia in a friendly (Ahram)
Egypt prepared for the U23 Africa Cup of Nations, which will determine the continent's representatives at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, by beating Saudi Arabia again in a friendly in Cairo on Tuesday.
The Pharaohs prevailed with a 1-0 win, thanks to a sixth-minute header from Osama Galal after a mistake by Saudi Arabia's keeper.
Egypt missed a handful of clear-cut chances to increase their lead, three days after they crushed the same opponents 4-1.
The country will be hoping to make the most of its home advantage when it hosts the Nations Cup from 8-22 November.
Egypt must finish among the top three to qualify for the Tokyo Games. Their last Olympic Games appearance was in 2012 when they reached the quarter-final, only to lose 3-0 to Japan in Manchester.
