AC Milan's Massimilano Allegri declared that Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari would "shine" in the Serie A giants’ squad given his high levels of motivation.

"Muntari is highly motivated because he wants to forget the recent bad period in his career," Allegri told reporters after his team's 3-1 win over Cesena on Sunday.

"I thought that Muntari could have had a better career since he has great qualities," he added.

New signing Muntari managed to score in his AC Milan debut to help send his new team to a 3-1 victory over struggling Cesena on Sunday, allowing them to regain their position at the top of Serie A.

"Besides the goal, Muntari also played well," noted Allegri. "He made good long passes and he's good with the ball at his feet."

The 27-year-old star has joined AC Milan on loan – from arch-rivals Inter Milan – until the end of the current season.
