Egyptian band El-Dor El-Awal will perform a concert on Saturday, 21 September, at Darb1718, playing some of their most-popular songs, including Raqs El-Hawanem, Rehla and Hawdag.

Formed in 1999, El-Dor El-Awal (The First Floor) are known for their unique sound that combines the musicians' respective backgrounds with a traditional-Oriental foundation.

The band is made up of popular percussionists Bob and Mizo, whose beats are rich, especially when combined with the tight electric bass provided by Ahmed Omar, and Fady Badr on the qanun and keyboards, Mohammad Samy on violin, Nour Ashour on saxophone and mizmar, and Hisham Issam on the oud.

Their first album, Qarar Izala (Decision to Demolish), was released in 2006, while their second, Aatareeq (On the Road), came out in 2009.
