Egypt's national team coach Hossam El-Badry announced that the Egyptian Football Association are in talks with their counterpart in Liberia and Djibouti to arrange a friendly game ahead of the start of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Pharaohs, who are competing in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers alongside the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, will start their campaign on 15 November when they host Kenya in the Nations Cup qualifiers before facing Comoros in an away game four days later.

"We are in talks with Liberia and Djibouti to arrange a friendly game during the upcoming camp," El-Badry told a television programme late on Sunday.

"We want to play a friendly before hosting Kenya as it's expected to call-up new faces for the Egypt national team squad during the next camp," he added.

Egypt national football team to start a preparatory camp on 28 October as the Egyptian Premier League will be suspended due to the country's hosting of U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.

"Sure it will be difficult to call up the foreign based players early for this camp so we will make use of new faces to test them ahead of Kenya clash," the Egypt national team coach said.

On Monday, Egypt defeated Botswana in a friendly at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium as both sides prepare for next month's Nations Cup qualifiers.
