The fire that brook out at the Giza Zoo earlier on Wednesday was caused by an electrical short circuit, and no people or animals were hurt in the blaze, head of the Public Zoos Central Administration Mohamed Ragae said.
Ragae said that the fire only affected a fence near the zoo's technical office, which is far away from the animal enclosures.
The fire broke out at 5pm after all visitors had left the zoo, Ragae noted.
