The Egyptian national team's former skipper Ahmed Elmohamady has praised the performance of his peer and teammate at Aston Villa Mahmoud 'Trezeguet' Hassan, predicting that the latter will score his first goal with the English Premier League side soon.

"Trezeguet has been working hard with Aston Villa since the first day he arrived," Elmohamady was quoted as saying on the club's official website on Thursday.

"He will achieve all his ambitions with the team if he continues working hard."

The Pharaohs player Trezeguet made his long-awaited move to the Premier League last summer after impressing with Turkey's Kasimpasa, where he scored 25 goals in 71 appearances.

Elmohamady is the Egyptian player to participate in the most Premier League games, with 167 matches.

"He [Trezeguet] only has to be patient and continue training to finish the ball on target and he will score his first goal very soon," Elmohamady added.

The 25-year-old player, who made nine league appearances with the Villans out of 10 so far, has not played a full 90 minutes since the season start.

Aston Villa currently lie in 15th place in the Premier League table with 11 points, 17 behind leaders Liverpool.
