Art Alert: Egyptian singer Reham Abdelhakim to give concerts in Alexandria, Damanhour

Abdelhakim's concerts are part of the ongoing 28th Arab Music Festival

Egyptian singer and actress Reham Abdelhakim will give two concerts within the 28th Arab Music Festival which opened on 1 November and continues until 12 November.

Performing on 11 November at the Damanhour Opera House and on 12 November at the Alexandria Opera House (Sayed Darwish Theatre), Abdelhakim will be accompanied by the accompanied by the Abdel-Halim Noweira Arab Music Ensemble conducted by Ahmed Amer.

Born in 1982, Abdelhakim is a well established Egyptian singer, who came to the limelight with her portrayal of Um Kalthoum in a 1999 TV mini-series in which she played the famed star of the Arab world in her youth. Directed by Inaam Mohamed Ali, the nine-episodes series starred Sabreen, Ahmed Rateb and Samir Sabri.

She also performed many tribute concerts to Um Kalthoum in Egypt and in the region. Her repertoire includes many well known compositions from the Arabic heritage; she also sung many songs for numerous films and television series.

Abdelhakim will perform during the last days of the ongoing Arab Music Festival, an event which over 12 days features 91 artists across the stages in Cairo, Alexandria and Damanhour.
