An Egyptian Arabic adaptation of William Shakespeare's King Lear, starring renowned actor Yehia El-Fakharany and others, has returned to the Cairo Show Theater in Cairo Festival City after a successful tour in Saudi Arabia during Riyadh Season.
Directed by Tamer Karam, the famous play stars many known actors including Heba Magdi, Rania Farid Shawki, Riham Abdel-Ghafour, Nidal El-Shafie, Ahmed Fouad Selim, and Mohamed Fahim.
Before the reopening, scheduled for Friday, El-Fakharany will launch an art exhibition titled 'Draw Yehia El-Fakharany' by young artists as part of an initiative by the Youth and Sports Ministry.
The gallery will be in backyard of the theater and will see the actor painted in several important roles he played for cinema, TV and theater.

King Lear, translated by professor Fatma Mousa with music by producer Mostafa El-Halawany, was first staged in Saudi Arabia in mid-July during the Jeddah Season.
El-Fakharany has been finding success with the play since its premier in April, and performed the same role with another crew at the National Theater for many years, gaining widespread appreciation from audiences and critics.
Cairo Show is a newly established theatre production company with four new halls across Cairo, launching with the comedic play Talat Ayam Fil Sahel (Three Days on the Coast), starring Mohamed Henedy early this year.
