Attracting investment is indispensable in achieving the desired comprehensive development in the continent, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said on Tuesday during the G20 Compact with Africa summit.

President El-Sisi said that investment will also contribute to stability due to its positive impact on employment opportunities, technology transfer and capacity building.

He said that this positive impact would not be confined to Africa, and would extend over the Mediterranean to European neighbors.

El-Sisi urged the international community to support Africa in facing different challenges, and said that the continent has a lot of resources as well as a significant location on the world map.

President El-Sisi also stated that German investments represent an important cornerstone for development on the African continent.

President El-Sisi recently met with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, a delegation of the Federation of German Security and Defense Industries, and Daimler AG Vice Chairman.

He is scheduled to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday by the end of his current visit to Germany.

The G20 Compact with Africa summit is an initiative that aims to boost economic cooperation between Africa and G20 member states and to increase investments in the African continent.
