President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi held a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron Sunday evening that tackled the current developments in Libya.

Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said the two sides agreed to intensify bilateral cooperation to find a political solution to the crisis in Libya.

El-Sisi said Cairo's stance on the Libyan crisis is clear as it is focused on restoring safety and stability in Libya, supporting anti-terrorism efforts, undermining the activities of armed groups and putting an end to the illegal foreign interference in Libya's domestic affairs, Rady said.

The discussion also dealt with boosting bilateral cooperation.

The two leaders also exchanged greetings on Christmas.
