A Day and a Night

Feature film Youm W Leila (A Day and a Night) is one of the first Egyptian films to be released in theatres in 2020, starting Monday 6 January.

Written by Yehia Fekry and directed by Ayman Makram, the film stars many famous actors like Khaled El-Nabawy, Ahmed El-Fishawy, Dorra, Hanan Metaweh and Khaled Sarhan.

Youm W Leila explores key social issues that millions of ordinary Egyptians face in their daily lives through a day and a night experienced by the film's main characters, who live in the large Cairo neighbourhood of Sayeda Zainab.

The film was screened in Sweden in October at the Malmo Arab Film Festival (MAFF) amid the festival's Gala screening programme.
