Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Tuesday discussed in Washington with US National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien ways of fostering bilateral ties at the political, economic and security levels, the Egyptian foreign ministry said.
The two sides exchanged views on regional issues and the latest developments in Libya, where they asserted the importance of strengthening efforts to restore security and stability to the North African country.
The pair also discussed ways to fight terrorist groups and their financiers.
During the talks , minister Shoukry expressed his appreciation for the US efforts to broker an agreement on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam which addis Ababa is building on the Nile, in way that achieves the best interest of Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan.
