Enrique Iglesias, Lionel Richie, Yanni, and the Caracalla Dance Theatre troupe are set to perform in the ongoing Winter at Tantora, a large scale music and entertainment event held in the old town of Al-Ula, Medina, Saudi Arabia.
Aside from featuring famed musicians, the festival offers guided tours, horse riding events, and balloon events, among other activities.
Running since 19 December 2019 and focusing the events during the weekends, the festival has already hosted numerous Arab and international stars including Jose Carreras, Jamiroquai, and Egyptian composer Omar Khairat, among others.
The most recent concert featured Lebanese singer Carole Samaha and Abdelwahab Doukkali, a Moroccan composer and performer, taking the stage on the Meraya (Mirror) theatre.
A first of its kind festival, Winter at Tantora runs between 19 December 2019 and 7 March 2020.
According to the event's website, the event offers "a variety of diverse experiences to match every interest. Festival goers will have the opportunity to participate in a range of unique events and experiences, from visiting spectacular historic sites to hearing world-class musical performances to soaring above the landscape in a hot air balloon or vintage aircraft."
Winter at Tanoura comes within the Saudi Arabia's intensified activities in the cultural field. Between 11 October and 11 December 2019, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia held a music and entertainment packed Riyadh Season. The country is also gearing up for the inaugural Red Sea International Film Festival, scheduled on 12-21 March 2020.
