Market Update: Egypt stocks close down in week's first session

EGX30 sheds 1 pct in Sunday trading as 132 listed stocks trade into red despite solid performance by telecoms sector

Egypt’s stock market closed in the red in Sunday trading, with the benchmark EGX30 index shedding 1 per cent to land at 5,308 points.

The broader-based EGX70 index, meanwhile, saw last-minute gains towards the end of the session, closing the day up by 0.5 per cent.
