Egypt's Olympic squad will prepare for the London Games with a training camp starting on Tuesday.
“We informed all clubs that the U-23 squad will attend a training camp until the end of August because the Egyptian Premier League is suspended,” team director Alaa Abdel-Aziz told Ahram Online.
Egyptian football competitions have been suspended since 1 February when at least 70 people died at league match in Port Said.
“If the league resumes, the players will be allowed to play for their clubs,” Abdel-Aziz confirmed.
